Running Update

So I just realized that I’ve been horrible & not posting ANY updates on here outside of using it as an exercise log!  That being said, I’d like to remedy it (as least temporarily) & announce that on Sept. 17, 2009 I ran my first ever half marathon– less than a year after starting my account! :)  How ironic that this occurred to me almost a year to the day from my first running post on here…  My plan for next year is to complete the Chicago Marathon on 10/10/2010 which also happens to be my 30th birthday! :D  I’ll try to keep you posted before next year on how that’s goin’, lol.

Just Another Newbie…

Hello all!  I’m a 27yo female living in lush, tropical NW Wisconsin! lol.  I’ve been exercising regularly for about 6 years now, and thought that this site might be a fun way to keep track of my workouts– for the price (or lack thereof), definitely worth trying out!

My favorite activities include: swimming; volleyball; rowing; yoga; walking; and  hiking.

Feel free to stop back and check in on my progress– both in my fitness and general use-age of this site, lol. ;)

Not bad, all things considered…

I’ve never been an avid runner.  I like to pretend it’s because it’s rough on your knees (I’ve known a lot of runners who blew their knees out), but that’s total bullshit.  I just think it is hands down THE most painful exercise you can engage in.  So mad props to all you hardcore runners out there!  That being sad, occasionally I feel the need to prove to myself that I CAN run, if I should so choose (plus it gives you SUCH amazing thigh definition!).   Evidently I’m going through one of those phases now, lol.

I know for most of you on here, my stats are not that impressive but I haven’t run in months, so I feel pretty damned good about being able to actually hang in there a full half hour! :)  With training, I plan on working up to running a full hour!  Wish me luck!
