Running Update
So I just realized that I’ve been horrible & not posting ANY updates on here outside of using it as an exercise log! That being said, I’d like to remedy it (as least temporarily) & announce that on Oct. 17, 2009 I ran my first ever half marathon– less than a year after starting my account! :) How ironic that this occurred to me almost a year to the day from my first running post on here… My plan for next year is to complete the Chicago Marathon on 10/10/2010 which also happens to be my 30th birthday! :D I’ll try to keep you posted before next year on how that’s goin’, lol.

Let the training begin…
This week marks the beginning of my marathon training. My first short term goal: Grandma’s half in Duluth, MN or, as certain circles like to call it, a Pikermi. :) Haven’t run regularly in quite a while but it’s surprisingly easy to slip back into. Difficult, yes. Insurmountable? Hell no! lol. I’m training with my BFF, Jenny, who also ran the October Pikermi with me & we’re following the same training schedule for the last one (adopted from Runner’s World mag) which basically has us running 3 short(er) runs per weeks and one long one.
I’m excited and I really can’t wait b/c I know that this year I’ll be completing my first marathon– how do people do this all the time? Does the excitement/novelty ever go away? For you long-term runners, what do you do to combat the boredom of running 4 times a week for months at a time??? Because I fear that may be my greatest challenge..

Just Another Newbie…
Hello all! I’m a 27yo female living in lush, tropical NW Wisconsin! lol. I’ve been exercising regularly for about 6 years now, and thought that this site might be a fun way to keep track of my workouts– for the price (or lack thereof), definitely worth trying out!
My favorite activities include: swimming; volleyball; rowing; yoga; walking; and hiking.
Feel free to stop back and check in on my progress– both in my fitness and general use-age of this site, lol. ![]()

Not bad, all things considered…
I’ve never been an avid runner. I like to pretend it’s because it’s rough on your knees (I’ve known a lot of runners who blew their knees out), but that’s total bullshit. I just think it is hands down THE most painful exercise you can engage in. So mad props to all you hardcore runners out there! That being sad, occasionally I feel the need to prove to myself that I CAN run, if I should so choose (plus it gives you SUCH amazing thigh definition!). Evidently I’m going through one of those phases now, lol.
I know for most of you on here, my stats are not that impressive but I haven’t run in months, so I feel pretty damned good about being able to actually hang in there a full half hour! :) With training, I plan on working up to running a full hour! Wish me luck!
